| Dean Blue Hole
The infamous Dean's Blue Hole is the world's deepest blue hole (underwater sinkhole), plunging 202 metres (663 ft) to the ocean floor, in a bay west of Clarence Town on Long Island, Bahamas. |

| Long Island
Long Island is located 265km southeast of the Bahamian capital, Nassau, and is known as the most scenic island in the Bahamas. Long island is 130km long and 6km wide at its widest point with a population of roughly 4,000 inhabitants. The island is split by the Tropic of Cancer and situated about the Atlantic Ocean coast, on the east side where it is noted for its steep rocky headlands, while the Caribbean Sea coast on the west side is noted for its broad white beaches with soft sand.

| 2009 World Championships
From November 25 - December 5 Vertical Blue hosted the 2009 AIDA Freediving World Championships in Deans Blue Hole on Long Island, Bahamas. 53 athletes from 17 nations joined us here on the island to decide who would hold the medals in both CNF and CWT disciplines. |
